About the Event
We invite you to stand with Zero Carbon Guildford in the March for Clean Water—an inspiring event organised by River Action, uniting passionate individuals and groups dedicated to protecting our waterways.

Why We’re Marching
Our rivers and communities deserve better. In England, there are over 1,200 sewage discharges daily, and at our community water testing lab at Zero, we frequently find E. coli and coliform levels exceeding safe legal limits for the River Wey.
The event aims to raise awareness about the urgent need for clean, accessible water for everyone and calls for action against pollution and environmental degradation. By joining this march, you’ll be part of a movement advocating for policies that safeguard our waterways and promote sustainable practices.
Our Demands
Reform Regulation - conduct an immediate root and branch review of Ofwat and the Environment Agency to put a complete stop to any industry knowingly and wantonly polluting our waters for profit and greed.
Enforcing the Law - we already have the laws and regulations in place to end water pollution. What we need now is this new government to uphold and enforce them.
Stop pollution for profit - make sure ALL polluting industries invest here and now for the long term, upgrading infrastructure, reducing water wastage and leaks, helping farmers restore habitats, increasing efficient water use everywhere.
