SBN: Business Travel & Commuting Emissions

Business Travel and Employee Commuting both count as part of your scope 3 emissions, requiring measurement, an action plan to reduce emissions and crucially employee engagement to help them make better choices.   

In a nutshell, any business with over 500 employees, or who bids for £5m + of Government finds will need to be reporting their emissions as part of a net zero strategy - and even if that  doesn't affect you directly you will almost certainly be in the value chain of one of those business. That means you're part of their Scope 3 emissions, and if you want to stay a prefered supplier / buyer, you'll need to be measuring and reducing too!   

Transport and commuting can feel like an intimidating part of a sustainability plan to take on, because it may seem that you’re asking people to choose a less convenient or attractive option. In this session we’ll be giving you the confidence to measure your travel footprint, establish a travel hierarchy and implement a travel plan - it can be easier than you think! And we’ll share examples of how you can engage with your team(s) to ensure you’re working together to improve health & wellbeing, reduce costs and carbon with behavioural change.
