About the Event

David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) is delighted to invite you to an incredibly special screening and talk, in partnership with renowned wildlife artists Martin Aveling and Alicia Hayden, exploring how creatives of all ages can get involved in wildlife and environmental conservation, and the concept of artivism.

Hosted on Friday 27th of January, we urge any aspiring creatives, artists and conservationists to come join us to listen, connect, learn and get inspired about fighting the current environmental crisis and how arts can be used as a vital conservation tool to protect our natural world and its habitants.

This event will feature a talk from Martin Aveling, the winner of DSWF's Wildlife Artist of the Year 2021 Art of Survival Award, discussing the necessity of conservation in modern day art and the growing movement of artivism before unveiling the new film documentary by Alicia Hayden (Human Impact Award winner 2021) , which follows Zimbabwean artist and DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year finalist, Tichaona Ncube, also known as The Watchman. The film shows how Tich uses art to communicatehow wildlife is a part of all of us, drawing attention to the beauty and fragility of Africa's wildlife, and ultimately how we all have a part to play in halting species extinction.

Networking and Q&A session to finish the evening.

For ages 18 and above.

All ticket sales will go towards DSWF's work in protecting endangered species and turning the tide on extinction.
